The
World
Liner Supply reporting service is designed to help
ocean carriers, non-vessel-operating common carriers, forwarders,
shippers, ports and analysts monitor competition and capacity trends
in liner shipping.
World
Liner Supplys quarterly
reports calculate the up-to-date ship capacity of each alliance,
carrier, service and trade route on the worlds 12 major trade
lanes. WLS covers all the
liner services in a trade and gives a timely analytical assessment of
total capacity supply from quarter to quarter that reflects changes in
services or in the number or size of the ships deployed.
The
main World
Liner Supply reports are tables of capacity by trade
route (sent as Excel spreadsheet tables), which show the
capacity and frequency for each service and alliance for the current
quarter and previous quarter, as well as the percentage change.
The
reports feature a unique analytical summary of service changes and
fleet changes by trade, including a highlight of carriers that have
entered the trade or have expanded aggressively in the latest quarter.
The summary shows the services added, withdrawn or restructured.
WLS
also provide a detailed list of all ships deployed in a trade, listed
service by service. The ships list by trade enables users to analyze
further how their competitors are upgrading or retonnaging services.
